The National Sports Center velodrome has a handful of riders making the trek over to Manchester, England to compete in the 2015 Track Cycling Master World Championships, October 3-10.
Pat Whalen, Tim Mulrooney and Daniel Casper will test themselves against the best in the world in their age groups.
Mulrooney and Casper (45-49 age group) will be competing in the individual pursuit, team pursuit, scratch race and point’s race. They will also be participating in the prestigious Brian Cossavella Memorial Scratch race which is a non-championship event that wraps up the event on the last day. Bragging rights for winning this one almost trumps a rainbow jersey, almost!
Whalen (65-69 age group) will be competing in every event available to him. He has been working on the sprint disciplines for for years but in 2014 he found himself on the podium with a silver medal in the scratch race. So, what will it be this year? Sprint medal? Endurance medal? Both?
All age group finals and awards will be streamed live via YouTube here.
