Daniel Casper (Donkey Label) led a strong NSC Velodrome contingent at Masters World Championships last week in Manchester, England. Casper earned an astounding three world championships, winning the 45-49 Individual Pursuit and Scratch Race before teaming with Tim Mulrooney (Synergy) and three other Americans in a record-breaking 45-54 Team Pursuit championship. The Project 320 team met their very public goal of 3:20 and change, breaking their 2014 record by three seconds!
Mulrooney also placed 7th in the Individual Pursuit in 45-49, and Pat Whelan (PJW Racing) placed 8th in the Men’s 65-69 Scratch Race. In a special ceremony, the 2013 Project 320 team, which included James Tainter, received their world champions’ jerseys and medals. The team earned their first championship that year after the initial winners were disqualified due to a positive doping test. Former NSC Velodrome racers, Andy Kruse, Jen Dorsey and Chris Ferris competed in their first Masters Worlds as well. A huge congrats to all of our racers battling some stiff competition.
