NSC Velodrome Pair Earns Unprecedented 12 Gold Medals

Alijah Beatty (North Star Development) and Peter Moore (Donkey Label Racing) pulled out all the stops on their way to the top of their respective age groups at USA Cycling’s Track Junior Nationals in Los Angeles last week.

Beatty earned six National Championships, including the International Omnium title, in the Women 17-18 category, including a hard-fought battle in the keirin that saw her find her way from 3rd position, through a tightly packed field to take the win in the final meters over a strong group of pure sprinters. Alijah won every discipline she entered. The reigning U.S. national champion in two road disciplines as well, she will represent the U.S. internationally later this summer.

Moore, competing in the Men 15-16 category, also earned six National Championships, including the overall Omnium, highlighted by a national age-group record in the Individual Pursuit and a come-from-behind win in the Points Race. Moore led the points-race standings with 10 laps to go, but trailed by a lap to the race leader. Needing to take a lap for the win, he attacked solo and caught the field with just one lap left in the race. On snow in the winter, Peter is a three-time All American junior national Nordic skier for Endurance United.
