The Fixed Gear Classic is the Upper Midwest's premier track cycling showcase.

This three-day event has featured a who's who of the international track racing elite. European speedsters, including 4-time world champion Franco Marvulli, 2-time Tour de France stage winner Leon van Bon and 43-time Italian Champion Roberto Chiappa have put their stamp on this prestigious event. American superstars Michael Blatchford, Zak Kovalck, Kevin Mansker and Cari Higgins have toed the line with these European aces and held their own, with Higgins winning the event 3 different times.

2013 is shaping up to be another exciting event. This year’s program takes place Thursday, June 6th through Saturday, June 8th. Separate sprint and endurance omniums for men and women will again be at stake with a few exciting new events. Racing will begin at 6:00 PM Thursday and Friday with a noon start on Saturday.

The Fixed Gear Classic is part of the Nature Valley Bicycle Festival and serves as a preview for the Nature Valley Grand Prix, June 12-16. The Fixed Gear Classic promises plenty of action and the fastest cycling of the season. Don’t miss it!

Entry Fee: $30 for weekend

Endurance Omnium (men's and women's)

Points Race, field limit: 48
Scratch Race, field limit: 48
Miss and Out, field limit: 48

Non-Omnium Events

Madison Kilometer

There will be a Madison Kilometer time trial for men and for Women run on the second day of the event which will carry it’s own separate prize list.

Madison

There will be madison events for both women and men run on the final day of competition. A minimum of 8 teams is necessary to hold the event. If less than 8 teams register the a points race will be substituted. The madison events will carry their own separate prize list.

Win and Out

Men's and Women's Win and Out races will be run on the second day of competition and carry thier own separate prize list.

Team Sprint

The Team Sprint is a non-omnium event and carries its own prize list.

Trackstand Contest

Open to men and women the trackstand contests will run on the first day of competition.

Event Scoring
Events will be scored 10 deep toward each omnium:

1st: 10 points
2nd: 9 points
3rd: 8 points
4th: 7 points
5th: 6 points
6th: 5 points
7th: 4 points
8th: 3 points
9th: 2 points
10th: 1 point

Riders register for all the events they wish to race. A rider will be scored in the overall for each omnium if they race and score points in at lest one event of that omnium.
Ties in final placing for each omnium will be broken by number of firsts, number of seconds, etc, across all events of the omnium.
Minimum number of Madison teams is eight.
Madison riders must wear velodrome issued jerseys for Madison event.
